Birthing people today demand better options for their postpartum healing.

What makes assicle better?

TL;DR: Simplicity + Sustainability

The DIY “padsicles” that hospitals typically recommend are messy, unsanitary, wasteful, and require significant time to assemble. When you’re recovering from childbirth AND tending to a brand new baby, parents don’t have time for that.

Many of the leading postpartum brands are expensive, single-use products that create a ton of waste for the environment. Or, the products are encased in rigid, uncomfortable, and environmentally unfriendly plastics. We want to honor all mamas, including Mother Earth. The Assicle is made of soft, flexible material that can be frozen or heated depending on the healing needs, and can be used over and over again. We’re also developing a recycling program to ensure our products don’t end up in landfills.

Why the silly name?

We know that childbirth is PAINFUL but we’re not as descriptive as we should be about that pain. I hate to tell you this, ladies, but 95% of first-time vaginal deliveries result in some level of tearing. And many of us suffer from fissures, hemorrhoids, and other trauma to both our vaginal and perineal regions (aka our assholes).

It’s time to talk openly about this. We hope Assicle will provide a humorous approach to talking about something that’s still considered taboo, even though millions of women experience these postpartum issues. Our hope is that Assicle will help women feel emboldened to take more control over their healing options.
